Burial and Interment
Over three thousand pets have been laid to rest on the tranquil hillside at Rossendale Pet Cemetery.
Pets are laid out in a fully lined coffin, with silver handles and an engraved plate. Our Chapel of Rest provides owners with the privacy and the time to say their last farewells. Whilst we provide no specific religious ceremony, people of all religions and denominations are welcome to mark the passing of their pet in whatever way they wish.
When the owners are ready, the coffin is carried to the grave and lowered into its final resting place. Many owners bring flowers to place on the grave. Some wish to order a headstone, but this is purely optional and many prefer to leave it until a later date.
Following an individual cremation you may wish to inter the ashes of your beloved pet in our memorial gardens
At Rossendale Pet Crematorium and Memorial Gardens we offer human burial and interment plots, giving pet owners the opportunity to be laid to rest alongside their beloved pets.
Many horses and ponies also lie at rest at Rossendale Pet Cemetery
An annual plot rent is charged to enable us to keep the Pet Cemetery beautiful. The entire area is regularly mown by our gardeners who also maintain the burial plots.
